We will take the wax a step further as we dive into our mixed media stash and paint the town with color, paper, collage, wood and wax. We will explore composition and texture as we build up layers and will learn various encaustic techniques as we transfer, incise, glaze, color, stencil, embed into and shellac onto the wax. Your mixed media work will sing with new depth and complexity.

• gesso

• a good selection of brushes                
• oil pastels or oil sticks (portfolio or caran d’arch, etc.)

Judy Wise is an Oregon artist who has worked as a printmaker and painter for  three decades and who has kept daily journals of her writing and art since before she was 10 years old. Her work has been featured on greeting cards, published in books, calendars, educational materials and on tapestries. She is a dedicated teacher who loves to help others find joy in the process of discovery and self-expression.
