Such inspiration a bundle of newly painted papers can bring! Just pull the ribbon and behind the newly recreated book cover is a stack of background pages to be used later in your art and/or journal. In this class we will be getting messy while we create page after page after page of backgrounds with some subtle and some bold designs. We will using; a variety of acrylic painting techniques, foam stamps, gel medium image transfers, and collage, all after we create lovely covers using collage, drawing, & paint to hold tight the pages. This is the perfect art class for the beginner or the more advanced artist.
Misty Mawn is a down to earth mixed media artist living amongst the blue ridge mountains of rural Virginia. She has had a strong passion to create art since she can remember, a passion that continues to bless her life with purposeful work and fulfilling adventures from here to there. When not in the studio she can be found amusing (rather being amused by) her two ever growing children, cooking up come creative concoction in the kitchen, or strolling the back trails with camera in hand. She studied studio art at Moravian college, started a pottery business, and has since retired from clay to focus on painting and teaching mixed media art. You can find out more about her on her blog http://www.mistymawn.typepad.com/
