This class is for those who journal or those that want to begin journaling (or making a special handmade book to use as a scrapbook or anything your heart desires). You will leave class with a special hand made book filled with pages waiting to be used. We’ll start the day by making our own paper using guided steps in collage, watercoloring, acrylic paints, doodles, stamps etc. Once we have created our one of a kind paper, we’ll use it to cover artist boards thus making our book cover. Then we’ll bind our book by sewing in watercolor pages, and finish the day decorating those pages. We will explore and play with all different supplies while preparing the pages inside. I will bring all my favorite journaling mediums so you can push yourself (or jump in if you need a starting place) to find new ideas within yourself and add depth to your existing techniques. We will touch on water colors, liquid acrylics, crayons, special pens, wax, attachments, collage, etc. etc. This class is about creating the book and giving the pages inside background layers, not about the writing that you do in it. At the end of the day, you will be ready to go straight to the journaling bonfire, take class notes, make an artfest scrapbook full of photos and thoughts, a quote book; the skies the limit on uses for your one of a kind book.
