In this fun and easy felt workshop we will be using layers of wool pre felt to create colorful and detailed felt collage pieces. Your felting kit will provide everything you need to wet felt a scarf and wall piece. The fun of using pre felt is that you can cut detailed designs with scissors and create both wonderful abstract or pictorial designs. The felting process goes quicker with less rolling because the wool has been partially felted to begin with and the results are amazing. Come join our co-teacher, felter Barbara Carr, as we create some unique art to wear and a felt collage for your home.
Mary Stanley is a fiber and mixed media artist, rug hooker, traveler and collector of folk art and textiles. She has a BA in printmaking from UCSB and has drawn and made art as long as she can remember. She has co-owned a craft gallery, been a graphic designer, sold her jewelry, weaving, and wearable art at shows and galleries and has her work in many magazines and books. She enjoys teaching art in Santa Barbara and at Artfiberfest.
She lives in the mountains above Santa Barbara with her family and 3 cats and works in her studio every day.
