Are you afraid to draw? Have you been avoiding taking a drawing class, but are feeling a little niggling to add “line” to your mixed media work?
In this workshop you will spend the morning doing a series of non-threatening, exploratory drawing exercises that were designed to be silly and serious, both. (Having taught kids for many years I found this to be the best approach.) Some exercises will include one-liners, scribble drawings, cheater blinds, eyedropper play, doodling on steroids, drawing games and more… all to start getting your eyes and hand to work together, our goal.
The afternoon will be spent creating one or more mixed media works incorporating some (or all) of the drawing techniques and media explored in the morning. I will demo my own process, and then you will be set free to create a piece of art that will combine both drawing and collage (and anything else you want to add!).
