Learn to work with the remarkable material mica. We will use both the natural form of this many layered silicate mineral and a man made mica sheet. The pages will be assembled after exploring various techniques that emphasize the unique qualities of this material. Our book will be bound with a historic Coptic binding technique dating back to the 4th century.

- Small cutting matte
- Thin or light weight collage materials: decorative and text papers, photos, insect wings, leafs, feathers, etc.
- Contrasting patterns and imagery tend to work better.
- If you already own one and if it is convenient in packing please bring a dremmel tool, I will supply the bits.
