In the spirit of Dr. Suess we will explore the joys of paper clay. In the morning we will form simple geometric and organic shapes . Decoative 3 -d design principles and shapes will be taught as well as sculptural balance. The afternoon will be spent choosing pleasing colors and finishing techniques. I will give Demos on mixing and applying paint to get the color and effect you want and will also demo a simple undercoat paint technique that will allow you to achive a dry brush painted look using colored pencils. Our pieces will then be embellished with glass glitters, beads and small decorative objects. This is your chance to be a sculpture and carry your creations home in your pockets!
This class will use water based paints and glues and any toxic solutions used will be optional finishes and done outside with gloves.
