Continuing with our on-going Who’s Your Dada Series, this workshop will focus on a 2-sided, 2-headed doll that features a 5” x 7” canvas frame for the body substrate and wood for the head substrate. The body will be collaged on both sides Burnt Offerings style and one side will have a niche to house an intimate assemblage for those special few items that you will bring to class. The faces can be imagery, found objects, or combinations of both. Techniques include; collage, assemblage, working with various hardware including micro-fasteners, wire, screws, nails and apoxie sculpt for joinery. We will also introduce you to a wonderful new line of earth safe finish products which include paints, custom colorants, wax, sealants and exciting ways to use them. This doll will have 2 arms, 2 legs and 2 faces. The finished doll will be approximately 15” - so decide on limbs accordingly. You will have the option of hanging it or suspending it. All levels.

Supply List:
- arms and legs – these can be doll parts or found materials or any combo
- material for two faces – these can be images or flat-ish found objects or any combo. the head substrate is 3”h x 2.5”w
- a couple of inexpensive nylon/synthetic flat brushes between ½ and 1 inch
- an inexpensive watercolor palette – a rectangular or round dish with wells for mixing paint. can be plastic with 4 to 6 wells. available from craft stores or art supply
- a disposable container for water and an old rag
- round and flat/chain nose pliers and cutters – bring bent nose pliers only if you have them
- hammer
- awl for starting holes
- wire. a small spool of any kind of non-galvanized 20 gauge
- a few small scale objects for the inside of your approximately 4”h X 2”w niche opening and a few embellishments for the surface of your frame (see class samples for ideas). these can be anything from bits of tin and/or metal scraps to beads, bottle caps, game pieces, or just about anything that strikes your fancy
