Create a book from single sheets with this satisfying sewn design. We’ll stitch along a raised support for an attractive, yet sturdy design that opens flat! Perfect for assembling a group of artworks or creating a journal of sturdy supports for painting or collage, this binding is a keeper! We’ll practice the stitch on scrap cardboard and then bind a small journal that will feel good in the hand and great to work inside.
Come dressed to paint, and grab a newspaper to create a work surface in class.

- 5 4x5 pieces of corrugated cardboard (pieces of a cardboard box)
- 6 4x5 pieces of mat board
- 3 8x10 sheets of sturdy paper
- 5 colors of acrylic paint
- Plastic stencil or 2
- Acrylic gel medium
- Old gift/reward/credit cards
- 2 yds drawstring cord
- 3 yds waxed linen thread
- Awl, ruler, large eyed needle
- Paint brush & water cup
