Silkscreen & Stitch Journal

In this class you will create your own journal from start to finish! For your journal cover, you will learn a sweet silkscreen technique using your own art. You'll also walk away with a simple journal stitching technique that won't make you lose your mind. You'll finish by adding hand-stitched embellishments to your piece and watch it come to life. Create something elegant or create something funky, the choice is yours! You'll leave with a beautifully finished journal, your own personal silkscreen and skills to make many more.
Supply List:
- Ruler
- X-acto knife
- Pencil
- Scissors
- 2 - 8.5x6 pieces heavy chipboard
- 20 pieces thick paper of your choice -5.5x16.5 for horizontal journal or 8x11.5 for vertical journal
- Half yd. medium weight fabric for cover
- Quarter yd. fabric to line inside of journal
- Waxed linen thread
- Misc. beads or bobbles to sew on
- 1 large eyed needle
- 1 small sewing needle that will fit thru your beads
- 1 old credit card/room key card/gift card
- Awl
- 1 small fine tipped brush-#3 or close
Come with some ideas of imagery for your art.
