Freshly Renovated

Ever since I was able to use scissors I was cutting up magazines, books, newspapers, anything I could find to make collages.  Still to this day I am drawn to collage and the endless possibilities it gives for creating fun, spontaneous, & innovative designs & art.  And anymore I cannot seem to stop at just cutting and pasting, I am in love with layers, and once I put down a layer of collage I love to add layers of paint, crayon, & more collage to alter the images even more.  In this class I am offering a chance for you to spend an entire day with me, being an Art DJ,  cutting, tearing, piecing, and mixing collage, then giving it a whole new life with paint, drawing, crayons, & embellishments.  Once we have a collection of pages we will then tie them together to create a sweet little collage sampler.  C'mon, we'll have fun, fun, fun, 'til someone takes our scissors away!  

Supply List:

• Ten  6" x 8" sheets of 300lb  hot press watercolor paper (you are more than welcome to change the size if you wish to work larger or smaller) 
• Soft Gel Matte Medium (this is what i use for glue, if you have a favorite glue and want to use it...please d0) 
• Golden Heavy Body Titanium White Paint
• A nice selection of your favorite acrylic paint (small tubes are perfect) 
• Artist Crayons (must be water soluble)  I highly recommend Neocolor II by Caran D' Ache
• Pages from old text or poetry books/music script
• A few Magazines with great images for collage
• A bundle of Collage material, from books, magazines, catalogs, ephemera... images you are drawn to. 
• Scissors
• Brushes ( here is a cheap set i use: www.dickblick.com/products/blick-scholastic-wonder-white-filbert)  
• Medium Sand Paper
• 3 or so of your favorite design stamps (rubber or foam) 
• Hole Punch
• Ribbon, buttons, embellishments you wish to add to your finished book
• Black Aquarella Stabilo Marks All Pencil  (www.dickblick.com/products/stabilo-colored-marking-pencils)
• A container for water
• A few Rags or paper towels
