Is it the contrast, the simplicity, or perhaps just the lack of color
that makes black and white imagery so striking? I think it’s a
combination of all those things and much more...
In this Black on White class, we will be working on white paper and
adding layers of black and white paint, collage, imagery, stamps, and
ink to create many visually captivating pages in our journals.
We will cover many techniques, starting off with several creative
drawing exercises. From there we will explore what happens when we
add paint and texture, then moving along we will carve a few of our
own designs and add them to our pages with paint and ink, then we will
toss in a lot of collage to spice things up. Once our pages start
to fill in, we will add some of our own special black and white photos
and words to personalize our pages even more. For this class I want
to help you expand your vision when it comes to black and white and
all the possibilities that are waiting for you on a blank piece of
white paper. This class is for all and will be great fun!
