This class will focus on the fun of painting Fantasy Vaudeville characters with a living, breathing, cartoon character... Miss Mindy! Here, we'll reach into our 'inner color' - and focus on the steps it takes to create & complete your own character on aged watercolor paper . The Aged Paper will be supplied, (due to drying time) but accompanied by a demo so you can produce it on your own in the future!
This workshop will go through the steps it takes to paint your new little friends, whilst keeping your own artistic flair! We'll be focusing mainly on design fluidity, line weights, & the simplification of shapes. Some one on one time will be included as well, depending on class size. All painting levels welcome!

- 2 aged 5x7 watercolor papers
- extra paint colors

Acrylic colors:
- white
- yellow - Preferably ochre
- red - Preferably crimson
- brown - Preferably burnt sienna
- blue - Preferably cadmium blue
- green
- black or Payne's gray
*Fee can be waived if they already own a basic Acrylic color set and favorite brushes. More paint colors are welcome!
A Little About ME
Miss Mindy creates in her home studio/mushroom house in Eagle Rock, CA.
Her affinity for bizarre humor resonates within her fine art paintings, shadow boxes, and fluid ink drawings. Most recently, Mindy’s efforts have involved animation and toy design for Warner Brothers , Disney/Vinylmation & Nickelodeon. She has created two books with Baby Tattoo Books Publishing: 'Miss Mindy's Sassy Paper Doll Bonanza' & 'Teenie Weenie Tales'. Her personal work is sought after by collectors far and wide, from film industry professionals, to burlesque performers & circus carnies.
