A diptych is an artwork consisting of two separate pieces intended to be enjoyed together as a pair, viewed next to each other. One can stand alone but it’s most powerful when interacting with the other, connecting in obvious yet mysterious ways. We will be creating two canvases. One will depict our roots, our past, ‘where we are coming from’. The other will depict our shoots, our future, our paths to be, ‘where we are going to’. Standing side by side the two canvases will represent us today. We will be working with multiple media and rich layering processes, materials, and various images, to express the two opposing themes and their connectedness. We will impress ourselves with a dynamic and expressive diptych.
