Encaustic and plaster; a marriage made in heaven! Using resists and stencils we will begin this workshop building texture with plaster on boards. Burning into the exposed wood surface and turning the plaster a yummy golden brown with a torch will appeal to some while others will go straight for the wax and build scrumptious layered creations with other techniques in the wax like image transfer, collage and incising. A fun, full day of experimentation in encaustic!

Patricia Baldwin Seggebruch began painting more than a dozen years-always abstractly and evolving into encaustics from acrylic over six years ago. Her love for the medium translates into her teaching and students benefit from a passionate, engaging workshop experience filled with all the knowledge Patricia has acquired and developed in her forge into this rich and diverse medium.
Patricia’s book, Encaustic Workshop is available on book shelves everywhere and two DVD’s in the medium are on the market thanks to RF Publishing and Creative Catalyst Productions. Her second book, Encaustic Extravaganza, will be on book shelves in August 2011.
When not completely immersed in this creativity, Patricia keeps herself busy raising four teenage sons, two cats and 5 bantam hens.
