In this workshop you will use plexi-glass as an alternative substrate for mixed media portraits. Using plexi-glass allows you to work in a reverse method of layering that creates dynamitic color effects. Learn several methods for working on the plexi-glass, draw, scribble, scratch, paint, drip, stencil, stamp, spray and collage. We will use several types of paints, acrylic, metallic and dimensional paints. You can also collage on the plastic with paper and fabric scraps.
We will go over the basics of drawing faces, (no drawing experience necessary) and you will also be given several faces that you can easily transfer to the plexi-glass or you can bring your own portraits from home to transfer. You can also choose to create geometric and/or abstract mixed media pieces using the plexi-glass.
