We will be making really cool needle felted cuffs using your own vivid imagination. We will cover needle felting, accent embroidery and how to put it all together. We will also make handmade buttons to close our new cuffs.
Supply List:
Optional Kit Fee $10 includes:
(everything listed below except paint and varnish)
If you prefer not to purchase the kit, you may bring your own supplies:
- Wool Felt for the base of your cuff (I prefer either 100% wool or a blend. This is not the “craft felt” you find in the craft store. I get mine from Etsy or achildsdream.com
- Wool Roving in colors that you like
- Felting Needle
- Piece of Upholstery Foam to felt into
- Embroidery Floss and Needle
- Fabric for the back
- Beads (optional)
- 1/8” Elastic for the closure
- Paperclay for button
- Acrylic paint to paint button
- Varnish to finish the button
If anyone is local and can bring a sewing machine, that would be great! It’s not crucial but sure makes it nice! If we can have a sewing machine, I will show you how to do freehand sewing to further embellish your cuffs. Machines should have the foot to do freehand stitching.
A Little About ME
I am a mixed media artist, painter of Pretty Girls and maker of things! I have a need to create that I just can't contain. I do something different every day. I paint, sculpt original dolls, and make all sorts of fun things. As far as personal life, I am married to a very supportive man, Ray. We have 4 children (2 are grown) and 2 grandchildren (with a 3rd on the way). We live near Birmingham, Alabama. This is my fourth time to teach at Artfest.
