Several years ago I started writing just the ending pieces of stories in a journal. It suddenly occurred to me that they would make interesting additions to paintings. We will make a fabulous painting using a loose and fast painting style and finish it off with story pieces from our imaginations.
Supply List:
- Fluid Acrylic paints in your favorite colors plus Titanium White, Burnt Umber and Carbon Black
- A few Craft Acrylics (optional)
- Brushes. I like a small filbert the face.
- A Natural Sponge
- Anything that will make a design! (stencils, stamps, etc) I will have plenty if you don’t want to carry them with you.
- A piece of scrapbook paper in a very light pattern. We will paint our stories over this so make sure it is light enough to see the words. You can also use a plain white piece of cardstock and lightly paint it (I often paint mine with watercolors-you can do this at home if you’d like).
Teacher will bring:
- 8” x 10” piece of plywood for each student
A Little About ME
I am a mixed media artist, painter of Pretty Girls and maker of things! I have a need to create that I just can't contain. I do something different every day. I paint, sculpt original dolls, and make all sorts of fun things. As far as personal life, I am married to a very supportive man, Ray. We have 4 children (2 are grown) and 2 grandchildren (with a 3rd on the way). We live near Birmingham, Alabama. This is my fourth time to teach at Artfest.
