Ever wanted someone to take you step by step through the painting process? Now is your chance to do that...and I will provide the paint!
I love to do crafts, fiber art and folk art but I am mainly a painter. My work is in 4 galleries, plus I do 5 art shows a year. So this year I am offering a step by step painting class for all levels. Even though I teach a traditional kind of acrylic painting in my home town, this is a new approach that is fun fast and non stressful. In this class I will take you through the painting process using acrylic paints. There will be some painting fundamentals, composition tips and color theory discussed. But mostly in this class you will be painting, starting with basic shape templates. You will take away from this class 3 small paintings on wood and new “tools” to add to your artist bag of tricks.
Supply List:
- Brushes: My faves are the white, clear handled, on the cheap side ones they have at Michael’s etc. Maybe a round #3 or #4 and a flat #6 ish. You can bring anything you have just not watercolor brushes.
- A container for water...the wider, the less apt to tip over.

I , Syd McCutcheon, aka Sheep Floozy, am a mixed media artist. I know ...who isn’t? Even though I do book arts, collage and assemblage, folk art and fiber art, I am mainly a painter. Acrylic is my medium. I use lots of color and I love to fit in a little humor. My goal is to make the viewer feel happy when seeing my work.
I live in a small community, Ballard, near Solvang, CA and co-
run a studio / workshop, where I teach and work, called the
ART CLINIC. I am in 5 shows a year, one of which I coordinate. It is a benefit art faire for Domestic Violence Solutions called Queen of Arts.
