Puzzling Ladies

So named for the method of putting our ladies together like a puzzle, you will be inspired while painting a 4 ½” x 6 ½ “, double-sided work of art on wood. We will create our painting (either from your own drawings done before the class, or from my drawings, your choice) using a combination of acrylics and Genesis Heat-set Oils (I will supply the Oils and the wood!). After the stand is assembled, the painting will flip so you can see the other side.
Supply List:
- A small selection of Acrylic Paints, whatever colors you like plus Burnt Umber
- Matte Medium
- A small selection of brushes (I like a small filbert, a medium flat brush and a small detail brush)
- 24 or 26 guage wire (small spool)
- A few beads to fit your wire
- Text, poem or picture for back side of painting (small-about 3” x 3”)
- 1 fat quarter of batik fabric (small scale) OR 1 sheet of scrapbook paper (small scale)
- Bottle of craft acrylic for the sides (whatever color you like)
If you would like to use your own drawing for your lady, size for 4 ½” x 6 ½” and make 3 copies on cardstock. Keep your drawings simple, just line drawings. The detail will be done by painting over your drawing. Otherwise, I will have plenty of drawings available for you to use.
I will supply:
- Wood for the painting
- Wood for the stand
- Genesis Oil Paint
