Who is in your tree? ...apes, aliens, hobos ...or Queen Elizabeth? In this class you will build a tree that could be your family tree, a tree of life, a tree to hold your ArtFest trades and treasures or just a fun and whimsical tree. We will use paper mache, branches, fiber, paint and collage materials to create a tree with a small nitch at the bases for a treasure or image. We will also create various elements that will be added to the branches. This tree can be taken apart for travel.
Supply List:
- Scissors and a craft or exacto knife
- Any gel medium you like
- Brushes to apply gel and for painting
- Small amount of paper, tissue, fabric, sock or sweater scraps
- Small images of your choice...such as family members
- Embroidery thread or pearl cotton and a needle that will work with them.
- An empty clean can...not too shallow
- Fun paper to cover the can, make leaves and some for collage
- 24 gauge wire ... or thinner, any kind
- 2 sets of pliers one should be round nose if possible
- Wire cutters
- Add-ons such as small figures or objects, beads, tiny flower, pom poms, ribbon etc.
Optional:
- water soluble pastels or crayons
