Between the Lines

Exploring the idea of texture, texture mediums, as well as alternative texture materials, we
will paint a series of abstract mixed-media, nature inspired artworks.
This workshop, suitable for all skill levels, unravels the secrets of abstract painting as it applies
to creating stunning landscapes and sweeping vistas, Students will investigate design principles
of composition, design concepts of light and dark, the importance of line and horizon, creating
organic shapes to represent terrain, along with using a variety of materials to obtain depth and
dimension through texture to render a three-dimensional quality to an artwork. And finally,
developing a visual language of color as it applies to nature scenes, in order to successfully
represent both ground and sky.
