Technicolor Journaling


Experience an art journaling color explosion by rendering subjects using
intense, high chroma, deeply saturated art sticks.
This workshop, suitable for all skill levels, explores the art pastel medium
along with methods for sketching from a photograph using a fast and easy
technique that requires no previous drawing skills, intrepreting color, selecting
dramatic color combinations, working with glue alternatives for attaching
miscellaneous ephemera, creating journal pages from odd materials such as
brown packing paper, and idea discover for recording the everyday.

Supply List:
- 1 - mechanical pencil with finetip (such as a Pentel 0.5mm P205)
- 1 - white eraser
- 2 - fine point BLACK Sharpie Markers
- 1 - 24 ct. box or larger of NuPrisma Pastels
- 5 - blending stumps or tortillions
- 1 - 8 1/2 x 11 or larger pad of tracing paper
- scissors
- 1 - package of graphite paper
- 1- RED BALL POINT ink pen (NOTE: MUST BE RED and MUST BE A BALL POINT PEN)
- 10 to 15 - personal photographs printed on copy paper (NOTE: select photographs where
there is a main subject and it fills the entire picture. Consider enlarging the photo when
printing. The enlarged images should be no bigger than 11” x 14” and MUST BE ON
COPY PAPER)
