Using a “discarded” hardback book, black card stock and book binding 101 techniques even the first time bookbinder will be able to create an interesting and very unique journal to work in. Participants will be shown a variety of samples using the same techniques to show the diversity of what can be accomplished in their journal, including hidden pockets, indexing tabs, short and long pages and high and low pages bound together for added visual interest.
Supply List:
- You need bring only the following:
- 12” metal ruler
- x-acto knife
- small cutting mat
- 1/8” hole punch (any where punch is best but hand punch will work)
- eyelet setter (your choice of style as long as it sets 1/8” eyelets)
- small sharp scissors
- permanent glue stick
- White, silver or gold gel pen (your preference)

- OPTIONAL FOR YOU…..
- Please feel free to bring your own papers or images to play with but know that it is not necessary to complete your workshop journal. Ample materials will be readily available to all participants.
- Small (about ˝” – 1”) alpha/numeric rubber stamp set and black permanent ink pad
- Two or three rubber stamps for using with bleach – bold stamps work best but detailed stamps can yield interesting results.
