We will explore new surface techniques as we create textured paintings of paper, paint, and collage, mount them on wood, then continue to build up the surface with more paint and a layer of encaustic wax that we will transfer onto, incise, and glaze with oil based pigment. This is a class to help all levels think outside the box when creating mixed media paintings.

Supply List:

• 2-4 sheets watercolor paper approx. 8x10        
• acrylic paints           
• gel medium
• a good selection of brushes    
• watercolors or permanent inks (opt.)        
• collage images from magazines and/or injet images to use          
• pencil
• 2 boards approx. 8x10 (plywood, any scrap lumber and thickness)    
• several colors of oil pastels or oil sticks        
• exacto #11 or scissors          
• interesting paper pieces, colored or patterned          
• an awl
