the bracelets that came out of this class last year were so cool, we've
decided to offer it again. working with a variety of sheet metals,
colorful tin, imagery, acrylic, semi-precious stones and bezel cups,
students will construct a fabulous layered bracelet from the ground up.
working on five mixed-metal panels and building upwards, you will create
layers that will be joined using two different riveting techniques. each
panel will have lots of texture and dimension and will be linked together
with jump rings and finished with a clasp. hands-on techniques, as well as
demos of processes not suited for the time constraints of a six hour class
include: creating rivets from brass nails, eyeleting through acrylic, a
very unique "water/torch" patina, blue paper etching, cutting, cold joins,
exploring various ways to add surface texture and color, alternative
closures and more. this workshop combines process with project and
students will leave with a finished piece. All Levels.
