Thursday
From Withinsideout
Misty Mawn
What moves you? Collections of words, pieces of nature, colors that you just cannot get enough of, songs that won’t leave your thoughts, and all the little things in-between? Life is full of beautiful, simple pleasures, that inspire us daily, if and when we stop to look. I love to combine these pleasures into my work as best as I can. Allowing the observer to feel as if they are reading a poem, listening to a song, and a part of nature all at once, just while looking at a piece of art. In this class we will be creating a piece of art such as this. A piece of art that pulls you in and lets you walk around, exploring yourself and the world of the creator. We will be working freely, on watercolor paper, adding your favorite paint colors, transfers with gel medium, images, more paint, layers upon layers, inks, stamps, more paint, more images, text, and whatever fits. Once the piece is finished we will mount it onto old book covers with fabric and tacks, to create the perfect work of art to hang on your wall. Come spend the day with me, to let loose and explore the unexpected from withinside out.
