description

Paper and fiber lovers will delight in this project that combines both materials in an exciting way. Starting with a textured paper base, we will cut line patterns and weave with an assortment of decorative papers and fibers to create a new dimensional work. Each sheet will be unique in its final form.

In the afternoon session, we will use this work to create a book with a woven spine binding. Students will use their dimensional paper to wrap the hard board covers. Other features of this binding include a highly decorative spine that is woven with two colors of thread, coordinating signature wraps around the interior pages that add a burst of color to the exposed spine, and textural contrasting endpapers.
