Join painter and mixed media artist Alisa Burke for a class that will redefine everything you thought you knew about canvas and paint! Alisa will dedicate the first part of class to sharing her painting knowledge, background, and tips/techniques. Be prepared to delve into the world of a modern artist by learning about canvas and paint- techniques that range from free writing to color glazing to splattering and making a mess! The second part of class will be spent cutting, ripping, gluing and sewing your canvas paintings into artful accessories. Alisa will introduce you to her original ideas for creating jewelry and accessories out of canvas paintings. Students will learn how cut, stack and layer-then shape and seal their canvas paintings and turn them into charms, earrings and beads that will be used to create several pieces of original jewelry. This class is like nothing you have ever experienced- be prepared to break all the rules and redefine your concept of a painting.
