Shopping Bag Journal

Bring in your paper scraps and all those plastic shopping bags you have hiding under your kitchen sink and we'll build beautiful journals that are perfect for listmakers and journalers on the go. We'll learn to recycle plastic shopping bags by fusing them together collage style and using them as journal covers. The inside pages will be made from remnant papers you have laying around your work area (don't forget to check the junk mail pile!). This is a great way to make small journals out of all recycled materials from your studio. Sample book size reference is about 6"x11" but you can really make it any size you like.
Supply List:
- 10-20 plastic shopping bags (consider a variety of colors and writings)
- a variety of papers (these will be the inside pages- use what you have before buying something new- they can be remnant scrapbook papers, lined papers from notebooks, blank papers from drawing pads, envelopes, etc.)
- wax paper
- a small variety of collage papers

- about 18" of ribbon

- Optional supplies: Japanese screw punch (if you already have it), waxed linen for the binding (i'll have black for the class, if you want a different color feel free to bring it), colored threads for embeliishing.
