In this workshop you will learn to create and use your own stencils. In the first part of the class you will learn some techniques for designing your own stencils. Stencil designs can be inspired and created from photos, text, magazine pictures, fabric swatches, even napkins, and your own personal drawings that we will do in class. (No drawing or painting experience necessary) You will cut stencils using ex-acto knife and scissors. You can also try out my heat tipped cutter. You will also learn how to make 2 part stencils.
You will then use the stencils to create layers of paint on canvas and paper. We will use the canvas to create a hard bound journal , where you can play with more stenciling.
