Oz inna Box

It begins with a book, always. Art Journaling is a powerful daily exercise and this class covers everything to either get you started, get you re-started or fine tune your current art habits. We build our journals from scratch using quality paper and using cigar box lids as covers collaged with Oz book art. (My favorite childhood books!). We will learn a simple but beautiful Coptic stitch to combine our signatures and finally we add a leather spine and pen-holder (so there is never an excuse to not start drawing). This may be a piece of art but we dig right in and start to fill it. The last part of our day we will strengthen our artist eye with some drawing and watercolor tips and tricks along with conversations about how to nurture our creative spirit muscles daily. All this fits snuggly in a wooden cigar box for safe keeping.

Art Journaling is all about noticing and appreciating the magnificence of the every-day.
