Traveling Pocket Journal

Make your own fun traveling journal from scratch! This wonderful folio of journals is great to carry with you, ready whenever you feel the urge to create. You’ll make your own folio with velcro closure to hold and protect your journals. Next you'll sew several small journals using a fun assortment of papers. The advantage of having several little journals is that while one is drying, you can work on another one. Then you are off and running! You’ll learn ways to jump start a blank page, lettering techniques, and what to do if you get stuck. I’ll demonstrate a variety of ways to layer media together to fill your pages with lots of depth and interest. You’ll leave with a great little folio, fresh journal pages eagerly awaiting your artistry, some pages already begun, and lots of ideas to refresh your journaling adventure or get you started on one!

I love art, nature & adventures. As a Peace Corps Volunteer, I created a nature center at Doi Luang National Park, Thailand. Later I designed graphics for Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo, children’s books for McGraw-Hill, and textiles for Tommy Bahama. In my studio, in addition to petting the kitties and drinking large cups of tea, I work with watercolor, pastels, acrylics, oils, fibers, jewelry, and photography. You can find me in Studios magazine Spring 2010, and in these books: Creative Wildfire by LK Ludwig, and Drawing Lab for Mixed Media Artists by Carla Sonheim.
