Come join us for a day of fully expressing your creative self. Let your pages sing with the colors and imagery that pleases you. No limits, no self editing, no "shoulds". A place to dream as big as you want. In this journey into intuitive and freeform journaling, we’ll cover many ways to overcome your inner critic. You’ll learn how to alter an old book and make it your own. I’ll demo a variety of fun & freeing journaling techniques mixing image & word. We’ll look at fun ways to mix in and alter photographs. Another bag of tricks we will use is adding the unexpected with flaps, envelopes, fabric and a variety of attachments. This will be a super fun class with everyone’s personal expression being fully encouraged and supported. You are the only one who can tell your story-and you’ll learn lots of exciting ways to do it!
I love art, nature & adventures. As a Peace Corps Volunteer, I created a nature center at Doi Luang National Park, Thailand. Later I designed graphics for Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo, children’s books for McGraw-Hill, and textiles for Tommy Bahama. In my studio, in addition to petting the kitties and drinking large cups of tea, I work with watercolor, pastels, acrylics, oils, fibers, jewelry, and photography. You can find me in Studios magazine Spring 2010, and in these books: Creative Wildfire by LK Ludwig, and Drawing Lab for Mixed Media Artists by Carla Sonheim.
