Birds of Poetry

"To see the summer sky is poetry, though never in a book it lie, true poems flee." Emily Dickinson
And so an image of a bird carrying words in flight came to mind. We will be creating a mixed-media bird that can be made into a journal and/or a wall piece that can hold your poetry, words, photos and collage. You will be using heavy weight interfacing as the base and layer with fabric, paper, paint, hand stitching, beads and charms and other found ephemera of your choice. You will also be cutting and using your own stencils to add images and designs on the birds.
