In this workshop we will be creating a 6 page journal on a board book from the point of view of a character that you create. It will give you a sense of freedom and focus when you are journaling not about your own life but instead about the life of a character who has specific likes / dislikes, quirks and personality traits that you create. We will be exploring spontaneous creation, doodling, storytelling, and just plain having fun.
I am a visual thinker, conceptualist, problem-solver and story teller. I have a passion for experiencing and studying the visual world for its lustrous color, its incredible shapes / spacial relationships, and its ability to form our thoughts, emotions and experiences as we go through life. Currently I’ve felt a strong pull towards interactive art and have been currently working on ways I can create my illustrative work but in a 3-dimensional environment so the viewer isn’t simply reading my story but experiencing it by full immersion.
I graduated from RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration, June 2007. I have also been the the web-designer of Artfest, artFIBERfest the Journalfest sites for the past 5 years.
