Words and Pictures

"Writing and drawing, as separate forms of communication, are both amazing ways to explore and express yourself in your journal, but combining them can open up entire new realms of fun possibilities. By putting words and pictures together, you can do things that neither art form could do on it's own.  For me, exploring this combination is one of my greatest joys as an artist, but it took me quite awhile to get them work together. In this class I'll share with you some of the fun ways I've found to make words and pictures dance together.  We'll do drawing and writing games, exercises, doodles, and spontaneous journal entries.  You don't have to feel comfortable with either art form, just a desire to explore new places and have fun doing it!"

Supply List

  • Pens, pencils, colored pencils, whatever you like to draw with.  I'll be providing blank zines that we'll be filling.
