It is my firm belief that every individual has a complete and unique world inside of them that either
has or has yet to be discovered and explored. In this workshop we will stretch, pull, expand and
squeeze your imagination to try and uncover this deeper world under the surface.
In the first half of the class we will explore the characters that live in our heads. Through various
exercises learn how to express different emotions, how to relate two characters to one another and
develop their unique character traits and backstories.
In the second half of the class learn how to tell your story through short two to three panel sequences
to fuller length multi-page ones. A picture can say a thousand words but three sequential pictures
can say even more. We will work on how to create a story spontaneously letting each picture inform
the next. This allows for the story to create itself, coming from your undiscovered world inside. We
will start with simple abstract story progressions and lead up to character based stories to fully develop
your knowledge of sequential art.
We will also be learning the basics of pen / ink / brush for inking your creations.

A Little About ME
I am a visual thinker, conceptualist, problem-solver and story teller. I have a passion for experiencing and studying the visual world for its lustrous color, its incredible shapes / spacial relationships, and its ability to form our thoughts, emotions and experiences as we go through life. Currently I’ve felt a strong pull towards interactive art and have been currently working on ways I can create my illustrative work but in a 3-dimensional environment so the viewer isn’t simply reading my story but experiencing it by full immersion.
I graduated from RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration, June 2007. I have also been the the web-designer of Artfest, artFIBERfest the Journalfest sites.
