Encaustic is an ancient art that is enjoying a revitalization because of its rich, organic nature and the endless variety of technique available. In this workshop we will start with a brief introduction of materials, safety and history before moving on to play time: This is where the fun begins!  Experimentation with priming, fusing and basic paint application will consume the morning hours; we want to make sure everyone can move the wax!   In the afternoon we will try out incising, embedding and collage.  Photo transfer and shellac will be demoed and all questions will be answered throughout the fast paced, fun infused day!
